For more than twenty years, Rosemary Solimando has proudly called Wawayanda home. During her thirty-five-year career as a mathematics educator, she earned the respect of students, parents, and colleagues through hard work, fairness, honesty, and attention to detail. Teaching required patience, organization, careful recordkeeping, and the ability to solve problems while working with people from many different backgrounds. Those experiences have prepared her well for public service.
Like many residents, Rosemary chose Wawayanda because of its peaceful rural setting, strong sense of community, and high quality of life. She values the town’s farmland, neighborhoods, local businesses, parks, and the traditions that have shaped the community for generations.
Although she never expected to run for public office, Rosemary became increasingly involved in local issues after learning about proposals for significant industrial development and hearing concerns from fellow residents about communication and transparency in local government. She believes residents deserve a government that keeps them informed and encourages meaningful public participation in decisions affecting the future of the town.
As Town Clerk, Rosemary is committed to serving every resident with professionalism, fairness, and respect. She believes the office should provide excellent customer service, maintain accurate public records, improve access to information, and ensure that government remains open and accountable.
Her campaign is built on a simple belief: the Town Clerk’s Office should always put residents first.
