My Vision
Wawayanda is a community with a proud history and an even brighter future. As the town continues to grow, it is important that local government grows with it while remaining true to the values that have always defined the community.
I believe transparency should never be optional. Residents deserve to know what their government is doing, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions may affect their families, neighborhoods, and businesses. Clear communication builds trust, encourages civic participation, and strengthens the relationship between residents and their local government.
One of my priorities is improving communication between Town Hall and the public. Meeting agendas, official minutes, legal notices, and public records should be organized, easy to locate, and understandable to every resident. Information should not be difficult to access simply because someone does not know where to look.
Another important priority is improving customer service. Every resident who visits the Town Clerk’s Office deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Whether someone needs a marriage license, a dog license, copies of public records, or assistance with another town service, they should receive prompt and helpful assistance.
Technology also provides opportunities to improve public service. I support modernizing the Town Clerk’s Office by improving the town website, expanding online access to records where appropriate, and making information easier to obtain without unnecessary delays.
At the same time, I believe Wawayanda should continue to protect the qualities that make it such a special place to live. Preserving farmland, protecting neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, and maintaining the town’s rural character can all be accomplished while planning responsibly for the future. Good government listens to residents, considers different viewpoints, and makes thoughtful decisions that benefit the entire community.
